C.A.R.E is excited to announce that we are looking to hire an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant works closely with the President, Treasurer, and Administrator to facilitate the necessary tasks and efficiencies to help manage the operations and assets of the Society. This position currently requires between 20 and 30 hours of service monthly. Rate is negotiable, based on experience and skills. Are you ready to join our organization?

Job Requirements:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.

  • Some travel within the Edmonton area.

  • Experience/Knowledge within a non-profit environment would be an asset.

  • At least one year of experience or exposure to a similar role.

  • The individual will be self-employed and invoice The Society for the hours of support provided. 

After a period of one year, based on the performance results and capabilities, the number of hours provided and pay per hour may increase. The final goal is to have the candidate grow into the Administrator role and take over the accounting function, which will include banking, accounts payables, accounts receivable, etc.

Current responsibilities:

Communication:

  • Maintains the Society inbox and all incoming correspondence, routes email accordingly and replies to public inquiries.

Data Collection and Maintenance: 

  • Maintain several registries, contact lists and downloads monthly statements and records.

  • Renews licenses, insurance and membership on time

  • Maintains home maintenance details and alerts to tasks needing to be done.

  • Maintain and update CARE’s online presence and postings.

Electronic File Management (Google):

  • Shared Drive maintenance, store content, organize folders and access levels.

Complete and submit reports including:

  • AGLC 

  • Society Annual Return

  • Grants

  • Fundraising Events 

  • Property taxes
