Update to Members
Our three homes, Royal Palace, Jenn's Place and MiPlace continue to operate very well and all of our residents have had a good year with no complications.
Royal Palace is midway through the expansion of a basement development which will be a great space for staff to use. Anticipated completion should be March 2023. A big thank you to the trades and suppliers who partnered with CARE Housing by providing many of the materials and labor to help this project come together.
Jenn's Place received new kitchen cabinets which adds value and a great look to the home. Thank you to the house reps for helping this project along.
MiPlace has had a few small repairs over the last few months and will continue to receive the care and maintenance it requires.
Our House #4 project has moved at a slower pace due to COVID and the inability to raise funds to get the project underway. However, with initiatives in place for 2023 we are confident that the plans will move forward and we hope to have good news to share with members as the year progresses.
All of our committees remain active with monthly/quarterly meetings to maintain smooth communication, bring forward fresh ideas and ensure that business is managed appropriately. Our Fundraising and Grant committee specifically has had a great year with 2 Stawnichy's fundraisers, Silent Auction and our most recent Grey Cup pool. We look forward to an active year in 2023 with more opportunities to help raise funds for house #4. The Fundraising and Grant committee does have a question for its members, as we continue to explore engaging ways to raise funds, the fundraising committee would like to get a sense of how the members would feel regarding a Golf Tournament in late spring/early summer?
This is a sneak peak if you will into some of the opportunities we are looking at planning, but before we get to far, we would like to see if this option would be something you would be excited to participate in. The "buy in" to this type of event could be north of $150.00. The board kindly asks that you respond back to this email at your earliest convenience with your thoughts.
